Art Mulready

Michael Mulready is an exhibiting artist who teaches Adult Education Art classes and workshops  as well as individual tuition. His emphasis is on building confidence in exploring the transformative aspect of art in a simple and accessible way.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE                                                                                             2003–present
Community Learning and Development classes and workshops in Painting & Drawing across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Scottish Highlands and England – beginners to advanced, listening to aspirations and helping people move forward..
Content:  light and shade, tonality, colour and form, simplification and building confidence – seeing  beyond realism through different approaches in abstract, portrait, colour, landscape, still-life, photography, sculpture.

BACKGROUND                                                                                                                    1985 – 2002 Seventeen  years’ scene painting and set design in a variety of media for stage, TV & film sets nationwide including opera, ballet, orchestras and trade shows to small scale repertory  and youth theatre projects – teaching  young people  scene painting, stagecraft,  props & lighting.
Other commissions have included murals, stone carvings and colour wash.
